The City of Welland has officially renamed the Welland Main Arena to LIV Communities Arena, following Council’s approval of a naming rights agreement in 2024. New exterior signage is now in place, marking a significant step in the City’s broader collaboration with LIV Communities.
Under the agreement, LIV Communities will contribute $500,000 over ten years to support critical repairs at the facility—helping preserve a key piece of community infrastructure while easing the financial burden on taxpayers.
“Thanks to this partnership, we’re able to invest in the long-term upkeep of the arena without placing added strain on the tax base,” said Jessica Ruddell, Director of Community Services. “It’s a renewed investment in our community.”
In addition to its financial commitment, LIV Communities also funded the design, production, and installation of the new arena signage—further reinforcing its commitment to local civic life.
The arena remains a cornerstone of Welland’s recreational offerings, hosting a wide range of community events and activities. This partnership ensures it continues to serve residents for years to come.
