The City of Cambridge has entered a new sponsorship agreement with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. (TMMC), naming the automaker as the primary sponsor for accessibility and facility upgrades at the Kinsmen Stadium Fieldhouse, also known as Kin 1 Diamond, in Riverside Park.
As part of the agreement, TMMC will contribute $100,000 to support the project and will receive the naming rights to the fieldhouse, which will be renamed the Toyota Fieldhouse.
The City’s plans for the Kin 1 Diamond upgrades include a fully accessible parking area, paved pathways, improved spectator seating, covered dugouts, artificial turf in the infield and natural turf in the outfield, as well as new washrooms, changerooms, and an expanded licensed concession with a patio. Completion is expected by summer 2026.
The investment forms part of Cambridge’s Play it Forward fundraising campaign, which is generating support for several municipal recreation projects, including the Preston Memorial Auditorium, the Cambridge Recreation Complex, and the recently completed Cambridge Soccer Complex.
Recent Naming Rights Deals in Cambridge
Cambridge Soccer Complex (2024): Earlier this year, TMMC signed a $250,000 naming rights agreement for the fieldhouse at the new Cambridge Soccer Complex on Linden Drive. The 10-year sponsorship supports operations at the 7,250-square-foot facility, which serves multiple natural and synthetic turf fields.
Preston Memorial Auditorium (2024): In December 2024, Greybrook Real Estate Partners contributed $100,000 toward renovations at the Preston Memorial Auditorium in exchange for naming rights to the building’s central atrium.
Together, these sponsorships highlight Cambridge’s increasing reliance on corporate partnerships to advance community recreation infrastructure while providing regional employers with visible, long-term branding opportunities.
