The City of Pickering has secured a $1 million, 15-year naming rights agreement with Dorsay Development Corporation for its new community facility.
The future Pickering Heritage & Community Centre will be named the Dorsay Community & Heritage Centre, following council approval of the deal. The name will appear on the building’s exterior, along with interior branding and a dedicated Dorsay meeting room.
Located at the Pickering Museum Village site, the over 44,000 sq. ft. centre is slated to open in spring 2026. Construction is currently around 50% complete.
“This partnership reflects Pickering’s commitment to financial sustainability and responsible revenue generation,” said Mayor Kevin Ashe. “It allows us to invest in core programs and services while honouring our community’s heritage.”
The centre is Pickering’s first new community hub in decades and is expected to deliver year-round programs, services, and cultural experiences.
