The City of Oshawa has reached a 5-year extension to its naming rights agreement with Tribute Communities, ensuring the Tribute Communities Centre will retain its name until at least 2031.

The $1.25 million agreement continues the annual payment of $250,000 established under the original 10-year deal signed in 2016.

Home to the Ontario Hockey League’s Oshawa Generals, the Tribute Communities Centre has hosted a wide range of high-profile events since opening in 2006, including performances by Elton John, the Tragically Hip, and Selena Gomez, as well as the National Grand Slam of Curling and other major sporting competitions.

“Oshawa is proud to extend our partnership with Tribute Communities through to the next decade, and we look forward to welcoming more world-class performers and athletes to our great city,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter.
