Grimsby’s arena complex will soon carry a new name under a significant sponsorship agreement. Once the $36.7-million expansion and renovation of the Livingston Avenue facility is complete this fall, it will officially be known as the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre.
Under the 10-year deal, Grimsby-based Major Refrigeration will contribute $50,000 annually, representing a total sponsorship commitment of $500,000. The funding will support local recreation and sports programming while helping ensure services remain accessible and affordable for residents.
Mayor Jeff Jordan emphasized that the sponsorship preserves the historic “Peach King Centre” name within the new title, maintaining a link to the facility’s longstanding identity.
The ongoing redevelopment of the centre includes a 130,000 square foot expansion and will deliver a wide range of enhancements, including a new double gymnasium, a second-floor walking track, multi-use community rooms, a fitness centre and studio, a youth centre, upgraded west pad dressing rooms, concession space, and expanded parking.
The naming rights agreement marks a major milestone in the facility’s transformation, demonstrating how strategic partnerships can strengthen municipal infrastructure while fostering long-term community benefits.
