Kingston’s downtown arena will be officially renamed Slush Puppie Place, following a 15-year, $2.025 million naming rights agreement with Slush Puppie Canada Inc., effective February 1, 2024.

The frozen beverage brand replaces Leon’s, whose previous agreement expired in June. Under the terms, Slush Puppie will pay $135,000 annually and receive branding, signage, advertising, and event promotion rights—excluding access to suites or free facility use, which were part of the previous deal.

City council unanimously approved the agreement, marking Kingston’s only received proposal during its public call for submissions.

Already the naming partner of Gatineau’s Centre Slush Puppie, the company sees Kingston as a natural extension, citing its strong hockey culture and community focus. Slush Puppie plans to engage locally through youth initiatives, sports programming, and family-friendly events throughout the partnership.
