The City of Barrie has entered into an eight-year naming rights agreement with The Peggy Hill Team, renaming the Holly Community Centre to the Peggy Hill Team Community Centre.
Approved by City Council on January 17, 2022, the agreement runs from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2030. As part of the deal, the City is updating facility signage, online references, publications, and other branded assets to reflect the new name.
The multi-purpose facility, built in 2008, attracts approximately 80,000 visitors each month and includes a pool complex, two ice rinks, a gymnasium, fitness and youth centres, meeting rooms, and a childcare centre.
Under the agreement, the City’s heritage committee is also collaborating on an educational installation within the centre to highlight the history of the Holly community, with completion expected in the coming months.
